Presidents’ Day 2013

Bomere Heath Cricket Club held their annual Presidents’ Day on Sunday 11th August with the Presidents’ Invitational XI getting the better of a combined BHCC XI.

The Presidents’ XI batted first and were indebted to Robert Dean hitting a quick-fire 50 supported by a less-rapid 28 from Matthew Hall and 14 from John Freeman. 16-year-old Jon Wills showed his potential with 5 for 8 from 4 overs for BHCC.

3rd team captain Chris Scott got BHCC’s reply off to a quick start with 30 with former 1st team captain Ian Day weighing in with 24 before 2nd team captain Darren Nudds made 30 not out at number 10 but was unable to get the BHCC team over the line as they came up 10 runs short. The pick of the bowling came from Chairman Andy McIlroy snaring 3 for 8 from 4 economical overs.

Thanks to Gordon Smith & Colin Young for umpiring and Carolyn Nudds for scoring throughout the day and to Richard Dawson for coming down and taking some photos.
