The Junior section of Bomere Heath Cricket Club is a fundamental and integral part of the club.

The Junior section has been growing in strength and depth with numerous players progressing through to play for the club senior teams in league cricket at weekends and in the evening league. We are also very proud to have a number of players selected to represent the Shropshire County and District representative squads at Under 12, Under 13 and Under 14 levels.

The Cricket Club is very well represented with 3 UKCC Level 2 coaches and 2 UKCC Level 1 coaches. This enables us to provide a fantastic level of tuition and guidance to every junior member of the club. Senior players of the club help to augment the coaching staff (including former county representatives) and some very willing and enthusiastic parents.

In 2016, we are hoping to enter a team into the Under 10 Shropshire Festival, the Under 13’s Shropshire Knockout, the Under 13’s North Shropshire Cricket Forum Sunday League and, dependent on numbers, the Under 11’s Shropshire Knockout.

Junior training starts in April with a registration evening, the coaching sessions starting a week later. Thursday evenings are set aside for club training between 6.30pm and 8.00pm and continue weekly until the schools’ summer holidays. Parents are always encouraged to stay and watch the training sessions with the option of some liquid refreshment alongside.

The minimum age for junior training is 6 years old on 1st September 2015 with the price for 2016 being set at £30 per member for the entire season. If you have two members of the same family wishing to become junior members, the cost is £55 for the season. Every fully paid junior member is insured under the overall club’s insurance policy.
