3rd xi vs Alberbury

alberbury

A strong 3rd xi took to the BCG in the sunshine looking to make it a first fir BHCC over a weekend. With both the 1st xi and 2nd xi winning on the Saturday and gaining a maximum 24 points, never before had BHCC gained 3 wins out of 3 with a maximum points haul.

With history in the back of their minds, the 3rd xi took to the field after Alberbury elected to bat first in the glorious conditions. However, young Jonathon Wills soon to amongst the wickets, decimating the away side’s innings in a return of 4-22. The reliable Adam James proved to be other chief wicket taker ending up with 4-25 as Alberbury ended up 109 all out, indebted to a massive 48 extras to get their total into 3 figures.

Opening pair Andrew Gittins and skipper Chris Scott set about getting to the target steadily, setting themselves for the long innings. This proved to be just the ticket as both carried their bats to give the 3rd xi a 10-wicket win, Gittins ending up with 37* and Scott 53*.

The 24-point win made it a maximum 72 point haul for BHCC over a single weekend, an unprecedented moment that has never been done before. Congratulations to all involved over a fantastic weekend for the club.
