2nd xi vs Knockin & Kinnerley

The 2nd xi looked to maintain their stunning start to the 2014 season by continuing their 100% record at home to Knockin & Kinnerley.

After his fine knock the week before, James Plant looked in good form making 31 before Paul Bolland made a quick-fire 65. Opener Rob Dean batted superbly to top-score with 78 before Matthew Jones Jnr finished off the innings with 31* in the 2nd xi’s daunting total of 258-5 from 45 overs, not a bad total after being invited to bat first!

Todd Cornehls saw the dangerous Bluey Thomas back in the clubhouse for just 4 before Andrew Oliver got to work with his left arm seamers snaring 4-17 from 11 tight overs. Young spinner Henry Preece snuck in for his usual wicket (1-8) before Jones Jnr finished off the Knockin innings with 3-12, seeing the away side shot out for just 66.

The 2nd xi bandwagon rolls on, this time winning another 24 points by 192 runs. That now makes 8 wins out of 10 games with the only 2 others being cancelled without a ball being bowled for the 2nd xi who currently sit top of the league.
